Lights Of Heaven Tops 2012 Hill Stakes Nominations

Nominations have been released for the Group 2 Hill Stakes, which is due to run at Royal Randwick Racecourse this Saturday September 22, 2012.

Lights Of Heaven is one of 14 nominations for the $200,000 race, in what will be her third race start of the spring.

The Zabeelmare will be looking to improve upon her last two start’s performances, in which her best result has been a ninth placing.

Lights Of Heaven

Lights Of Heaven is one of the nominees for the 2012 Hill Stakes.

The five-year-old finished 11th in the Group 2 Warwick Stakes first-up, before placing ninth of nine runners in the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes last start.

Lights Of Heaven has won six of her 16 race starts and has earned close to $1 million in prize money.

The Peter Moody-trained filly was on top of her game during the winter carnival in Brisbane, where she won both the Group 2 Eagle Farm Cup and the Group 2 Brisbane Cup.

She also placed a close second to Mawingo in the Group 1 Doomben Cup in May.

Mourayan is also nominated for the 2012 Hill Stakes at Royal Randwick this Saturday.

The six-year-old placed fourth in the Group 2 Makybe Diva Stakes last start behind winner Southern Speed.

Mourayan has won three of his 30 race starts and has earned more than $900,000 in prize money.

Ginga Dude, Polish Knight, and Lamasery are also included in the 2012 Hills Stakes nominations.
