Cameron Handicap 2012 – Barriers & Final Field

10 horses have accepted for the 2012 Cameron Handicap final field and barrier draw at Newcastle Racecourse this Wednesday September 19, 2012.

Tagus will be running in the $150,000 race after his last start win in the Group 3 Tramway Handicap at Warwick Farm.

Tagus is one of 10 horses in the 2012 Cameron Handicap final field.

The Encosta De Lago gelding had posted two seventh placings this spring before his Tramway Handicap win ahead of Kontiki Park and Moment Of Change.

Tagus has won 10 of his 44 race starts and has earned more than $535,000 in prize money.

The eight-year-old has drawn barrier nine for the 2012 Cameron Handicap and will be ridden by jockey Jim Cassidy.

Kontiki Park will be out to turn the tables on Tagus in the 2012 Cameron Handicap after his last start defeat in the Tramway Handicap.

The Thorn Park gelding won his first-up start in the $85,000 Spring Preview Handicap before falling short to Tagus last run.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained gelding has won eight of his 29 race starts and has earned more than $570,000 in prize money.

Kontiki Park has drawn barrier six for the 2012 Cameron Handicap and will be ridden by jockey Nash Rawiller.

Monton, Western Symbol, and Darci Be Good are also included in the 2012 Cameron Handicap final field and barrier draw.
