Caulfield Guineas 2012 – First Acceptances

First acceptances have been released for the 2012 Caulfield Guineas and the original list of nominations has been reduced considerably.

Pierro is the standout horse among the 77 still in contention for the Caulfield Guineas

Connections of 237 three-year-old hopefuls entered their charges last month but that list now stands at 77.

As expected, all the big guns remain in contention and the stand out contender is Gai Waterhouse’s star colt Pierro.

The unbeaten Pierro is joined by three other youngsters from the Waterhouse stable including Golden Rose hopeful Kabayan, Golden Slipper fifth Raceway and the promising Proisir.

Many in the field will line up in Saturday’s Golden Rose at Rosehill including Darley-owned pair Epaulette and Albrecht, John O’Shea-trained colt Ashokan and Anthony Cummings pair Your Song and Ninth Legion.

There is no shortage of hyped three-year-olds being aimed at the feature and one of this is Black Caviar’s half-brother All Too Hard.

But the Patinack-owned colt will have to improve remarkably over the next month to have an impact after failing to impress in two spring starts to date.

One horse that kicked off their spring with a bang on the weekend was Mark Riley-trained colt Stralia who ran a close second to star sprinter Snitzerland in the Group 2 Danehill Stakes.

Another horse who has already created headlines is New Zealand colt It’s A Dundeel who is unbeaten from three career starts including two last-to-first finishes on Australian soil.

The full pre-post Caulfield Guineas market is now available at so why not sign up today to back an early feature winner.

The best thing about the bonus is it can be split four ways. This means you can sign up today and have a $100 bonus bet in the Caulfield Guineas, Cox Plate, Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup!
