More Joyous returns in Saturday's 2012 Sheraco Stakes
The eight-time Group 1 winner has had two impressive trials in the lead-up to her spring campaign and this morning was named as one of 11 entries for Saturday’s Sheraco Stakes.
Trainer Gai Waterhouse will be hoping the daughter of More Than Ready can pick up where she left her autumn campaign as she produced an unbeaten four-start preparation including the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes, Doncaster Mile and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Also nominated to kick off their spring campaign in the Sheraco is Guy Walter’s dual Group 1 winner Streama.
The talented four-year-old has only missed a place twice from 13 starts and was last seen when winning the Group 1 Australian Oaks at Randwick in April.
The fillies and mares’ feature includes a number of other exciting entries and many horses who are expected to compete in Group 1 races this spring.
Among those could be the David Pfieffer-trained Gai’s Choice who won the Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic at Ipswich in June before placing in the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara.
John O’Shea-trained mare Colorado Claire signalled plenty of potential during an autumn campaign that was highlighted by a win in the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes.
Other horses included in Sheraco Stakes nominations are last-start winner Dystopia, the Darley-owned Detours and David Vandyke’s Miss Marx.
