Moment Of Change Leads Tramway Handicap 2012 Odds

Peter Moody’s ace spring prospect Moment Of Change is the pronounced favourite in the early 2012 Tramway Handicap odds for this Saturday’s Warwick Farm showdown, the promising galloper coming off a win in their four-year-old debut.

Moment Of Change

Moment Of Change shoots for their second win on the trot in the 2012 Tramway Handicap this weekend

One of the spruik three-year-olds from last season Barley A Moment gelding Moment Of Change failed to really live up to the hype during the autumn.

After two third place finishes in Sydney Group 2’s they failed their big test when 12th to the mighty Mosheen in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m).

Dropped back in class and distance 21 days later they finally won their first race since their opening two career successes when putting two lengths on Sir Fernando to win a 1400m handicap carrying 60kg at Caulfield on April 7.

Sent to the paddock after that run Moment Of Change spent four and a half months maturing and came back on August 25 to score a good one and a quarter length victory over the Joe Pride-trained Title in the Listed Show County Quality (1200m) at Warwick Farm.

They will now race second-up in the last at Warwick Farm on Saturday when they jump favourite for the $125,000 Group 3 Tattersalls Club Tramway Handicap (1400m), Moment Of Change drawn in the far outside barrier 12 of 12.

In the latest Tramway Handicap odds at they pay $2.90 and are firming with just two of their rivals also at single figures to win.

Following Moment Of Change in the Tramway betting markets is then Chris Waller’s Randwick Guineas runner-up Said Com ($4) who is third-up for the season after two strong runs in Sydney, and the Gai Waterhouse-trained seven-year-old Kontiki Park at $8 who won first-up over 1400m at Rosehill on August 18.

For punters looking for a little more value the next best fancied are then Group 2 winning Danehill Dancer mare Steps In Time ($10), the Ron Quinton-trained Monton ($11) in barrier three, and Waterhouse’s other runner Wild And Proud ($11) who runs first-up on Saturday.
