Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
The Group 3 2012 Concorde Stakes (1100m) at Warwick Farm on Saturday is set to be run at a hot tempo.
Ten horses accepted this morning for the exciting sprint and among them are Joe Pride-trained pair Tiger Tees and Rain Affair.
Both like to get out of the gates quickly and race from the front which will also ensure there is a good chance for those who like to run on.
Pride has predicted Rain Affair will have the class to win despite not being at his best first up and he will come from barrier seven with Hugh Bowman in the saddle.
His stablemate has drawn two barriers wider in nine and will be having his first race since making his Group 1 debut in the Stradbroke Handicap during the winter.
Rain Affair will be targeted at the Group 1 Manikato Stakes in October and one horse that he may meet there is Concorde Stakes rival Atomic Force.
The dual Group 1 winner will be having the second start of his spring campaign after finishing fourth in the Listed Carlyon Stakes (1100m) at Moonee Valley.
Despite hitting a flat spot in the early stages of the first-up run, Atomic Force hit the line well and is likely to show an improved performance this weekend.
Stepping out for Clarry Connors for the first time this spring is Satin Shoes who was a close runner-up to Rain Affair in the Group 2 Challenge Stakes in the autumn.
A winner of five 17 starts, Satin Shoes will kick off her spring campaign from barrier six with Jim Cassidy aboard.
Other sprinters named to contest the Concorde Stakes are promising Gai Waterhouse-trained gelding Nobby Snip and last-start winner Mrs Onassis.
