Mosheen Return Confirmed – Bobbie Lewis Quality 2012 Field and Barriers

Star galloper Mosheen will make her return to racing this weekend when she contests the Group 3 2012 Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m) down the Flemington straight.

The Robert Smerdon-trained mare was one of the stars of the autumn as she scored a Group 1 treble in the Australian Guineas, Randwick Guineas and the Vinery Stud Stakes.

She returns to race in open company this weekend and will carry the topweight of 59kg from barrier 10.

But who rides the star four-year-old has not been confirmed with controversy currently surrounding regular rider Danny Nikolic following an incident at Seymour yesterday where he received an indefinite ban.

Nikolic is believed to be fighting to to be reinstated to the riding ranks for this weekend but if he is not available it has not yet been confirmed who will assume the ride.

Shanghai Warrior will be chasing a third consecutive victory and his second at stakes level after beating talented Moody-trained sprinter Golden Archer by a length in the Aurie’s Star Handicap.

Trainer Pat Hyland has always had rated the Elvstroem gelding highly and is targeting him towards the Group 1 SIr Rupert Clarke Stakes and Toorak Handicap.

Also in form and chasing a third consecutive victory is Freereturn who won the Regal Roller Stakes at Caulfield on August 18.

Having their first run since finishing second behind Black Caviar in the Goodwood is the Mark Kavanagh-trained We’re Gonna Rock.

The lightly-raced six-year-old will be partnered by Michael Rodd when he jumps from barrier nine on Saturday.

Other horses included in the Bobbie Lewis field are Queensland gelding Spirit Of Boom, the Joe Pride-trained Title and Peter Moody’s One Last Dance.
