Spring kicks off tomorrow with 2012 Memsie Stakes (1400m) day and as always the Caulfield feature promises to be an exciting contest.
A quality field of 15 horses will line up in the Group 2 event with the market currently headed by 2011 Stradbroke winner Sincero ($4.00) and star Perth gelding Luckygray ($4.60).
In what appears to be a very open contest with a number a horses who will play a big role in the spring, only two other charges fall under double figures.
Rekindled Interest, third in last year’s Cox Plate, is being offered at $7.00 while Caulfield Cup favourite Green Moon is considered to be an $8.00 chance.
Others in the market are Group 1 winner Heart Of Dreams ($10.00), last-start winners Second Effort ($10.00) and Happy Trails ($13.00) and veteran gelding Wall Street ($17.00).

#8 Luckygray $4.60
Perth’s star galloper Luckygray finished fourth on Melbourne debut in the PB Lawrence Stakes on a heavy track but will be far more suited here.
He gets back on top of the ground which will allow him to show the fast finish he has become known for in Perth and which saw him win three consecutive stakes victories during the Western Australian winter.
Adelaide gelding Happy Trails produced an eye-catching run in the Doncaster to bolt home for sixth in the autumn and returned on August 11 to win the Group 3 Spring Stakes.
If the five-year-old brings that sort of form again he’ll go close as he steps up another 200 metres which should suit.
Rekindled Interest has a class advantage over most in the field and should be quite forward for this first-up run.
Distance is a touch short of ideal but look for him to hit the line strongly and he can produce a top three finish.
