African Pulse Heads 2012 Heath 1100 Nominations

Mike Moroney-trained four-year-old African Pulse heads a strong nominations list for the Listed 2012 Heath 1100 (1100m) which will be held at Caulfield this Saturday.

Otherwise known as Stakes, the $120,000 event has attracted 16 entries.

African Pulse is likely to be targeted at some the spring’s biggest sprints and returned with a bang this campaign when winning the J Colwell & B Singh Handicap at Flemington earlier this month.

Having their third start since returning from injury will be Peter Moody-trained Golden Archer who won the Monjon Australia Handicap first-up before finishing second to Shanghai Warrior in the Aurie’s Star Handicap.

Golden Archer is a multiple stakes winner but the Moody camp is still chasing black-type victory as a four-year-old in order to improve his value as a stallion.

Chasing a fourth consecutive victory and returning after a short break is Darren Weir-trained mare Platelet who had a highly impressive winter campaign.

The talented daughter of Strategic boasts a career record of five wins from 12 starts including the Listed Monash Stakes last start.

One horse who has been in excellent recent form is Jason Warren-trained gelding Freereturn who will be chasing a third consecutive victory.

A son of Rubiton, the six-year-old finished second to Golden Archer in the Monjon Australia Handicap before winning both the Harvey Sprint and the Listed Regal Roller Stakes.

Another nominated in-form horse is four-year-old mare Glows who won first-up at Moonee Valley earlier this month before finishing third to Lady Melksham in the Cockram Stakes.

There is no better place to bet this Melbourne Spring Carnival than at, a fully Australian owned bookie that is home to the sensational $300 bonus bet!
