An exciting eight-race card is set to place at Warwick Farm this weekend and the major feature race is the Group 2 2012 Warwick Stakes (1400m).

Secret Admirer

Secret Admirer is the Races.com.au tip to win the Warwick Stakes

It is set to be an interesting affair, with a number of quality horses returning for their first race of their spring campaigns coming up against some in-form opposition.

Currently heading the Warwick Stakes market is last year’s winner Pinwheel ($3.40), with Gai Waterhouse’s recent stable addition Rock ‘N’ Pop the next best at $5.00.

Just behind the pair is last year’s Epsom winner Secret Admirer ($6.00) Peter Moody’s Lights Of Heaven ($8.00).

No other runner falls under double figures with Missile Stakes placegetter Rolling Pin ($12.00), Startsmeup ($18.00), Danleigh ($18.00) and Bold Glance ($19.00) the next best in the market.

Not sure who to back in this exciting Warwick Farm feature? Don’t worry, the hard work has been done for you so keep reading to get the very best selections from the Races.com.au team.

The Winner

#13 Secret Admirer $6.00

The five-year-old mare has good first-up form and while she hasn’t won since last year’s Epsom she has genuine class.

A multiple placegetter in the top grade in the autumn, the Grahame Begg-trained mare needs the race to be run at a fast tempo and she should get that here.

The likes of Pinwheel, Startsmeup and Bold Glance should set a decent pace up front which will allow the daughter of Dubawi to be run on nicely.

The Placings

#2 Pinwheel $3.40 and#5 Bold Glance $19.00

Last year’s winner Pinwheel looks a good chance again this year after returning to the winner’s circle two weeks ago.

The Darley-owned gelding was as honest as ever when putting away her rivals by two lengths in the Missile Stakes and there is no reason why he can’t again run well here.

After a troublesome six months with illness and injury Norm Hilton appears to have got former Doncaster placegetter Bold Glance back near his best.

The Queensland gelding won at Doomben last start and also trialled well earlier this month with Chris Munce aboard who will head to Sydney to assume the ride.
