Show County Quality 2012 – Preview and Tips

The spring is nearly here which means quality stakes racing has returned and one of the most exciting races this weekend is the Listed 2012 Show County Quality (1200m).

Currently heading the market in the nine-horse field is Peter Moody-trained gelding Moment Of Change who is being offered at $2.10.

Behind the promising four-year-old are Group-level winner Somepin Anypin ($5.50) and Joe Pride-trained sprinter Title ($6.50).

Only one other horse falls under double figures and that is Monton ($8.00) who will be aimed at the Epsom this spring.

If you are having difficulty working out a winner in the Show County Quality keep reading as the team have been hard at work analysing the form to bring your our top winning picks.

The Winner

#4 Moment Of Change $2.10

This talented Moody galloper is at short odds and for good reason. A winner of three of six starts, Moody has brought him to Sydney to find a dry track.

A good first-up performer and capable of showing a lightning-fast finish, the son of Barely A Moment should be far too good with Peter Robl in the saddle this weekend.

The Placings

#2 Title $6.50 and #Earnest Ernest $14.00

Both our place selections come from the Joe Pride stable and he has gained a reputation as a great trainer of sprinters in recent years.

Title finished fourth first-up in the Missile Stakes and his form shows he generally performs better with a run under his belt so expect him to step up here.

Earnest Ernest has been highly consisten this preparation and while h is stepping up in class he should be able to hold his own in this Listed field.

The seven-year-old sprinter has not missed a place in his past five starts and is racing at his home track tomorrow.
