Pinwheel Heads Warwick Stakes 2012 Betting

Last year’s winner Pinwheel is expected to again perform strongly in the Group 2 2012 Warwick Stakes, at least if the market is anything to go by.

Pinwheel

Pinwheel is favourite to go back-to-back in the Warwick Stakes

The Darley-owned gelding has opened as $3.40 favourite at bookmaker.com.au in the event he won by two lengths ahead of Ilovethiscity last year.

A son of Lonhro, Pinwheel heads into the race in good form after winning by two lengths first-up two weeks ago in the Missile Stakes.

Following the experienced gelding in the betting is recent addition to the Gai Waterhouse stable Rock ‘N’ Pop ($5.00).

A winner of three of nine starts in New Zealand, the son of Fastnet Rock won the Group 1 2000 Guineas and placed in both the Group 1 International Stakes and New Zealand Derby.

Since joining Waterhouse’s Randwick stable the four-year-old has impressed with two winning trials.

Occupying the third line of betting is last year’s Epsom winner Secret Admirer ($6.00) while Peter Moody’s Lights Of Heaven is being offered at $8.00.

Both are having their first start ahead of their respective spring campaigns which could potentially feature a start in the Caulfield Cup for both horses.

No other horses comes under $10.00 but there is no shortage of quality throughout the rest of the field with the likes of Group 1 placegetters Bold Glance ($18.00) and Lamasery ($21.00) being offered at big prices.

While a number of horses are beginning their campaigns in the Warwick Stakes, one horse in form is Startsmeup who is currently paying $21.00.

The Gold Coast-based gelding is chasing a third consecutive victory after producing two strong performances at Doomben in the past month.

The Australian-owned bookie is preferred by Races.com.au due to their amazing prices and [blink text=”$300 bonus bet offer” for new customers.
