Cavalry Rose and Flying Snitzel have both been confirmed for the Silver Shadow Stakes while Villa Splendido could join the pair.

A recent stable addition, Villa Splendido has also been nominated for the Group 3 Up & Coming Stakes (1300m).

While Ryan is yet to decide which direction he will take with the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor, he has been impressed by her work in the leadup to the weekend.

“Villa Splendido had a good hitout yesterday and pulled up pretty well,” Ryan said.

“She’s pretty forward, she has a lot of residual fitness.”

Ryan is pleased with his entire contingent of fillies but suggested Flying Snitzel had shown the most improvement from her two-year-old career.

“She’s a filly I think has improved from a two-year-old,” he said.

“She’s shown a bit more dash…I reckon she’ll hit the line really well.”

A winner of two of six starts, Flying Snitzel won the Group 3 Scwheppervescence as a juvenile and finished third in the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes.

Cavalry Rose also signalled potential in the autumn, finishing a close runner-up in the Magic Night Stakes before running eighth in the Golden Slipper.

“Cavalry Rose did a bit of work Saturday morning and pulled up very well,” Ryan said.

“She hit the line probably the best she has this time in.”

Other horses confirmed to run in the Silver Shadow Stakes include the Golden Rose bound She’s A Fox and exciting Patinack entrant Nechita.
