She’s A Fox Continues Strong Form on Way to 2012 Golden Rose

Talented filly She’s A Fox has firmed to be one the leading 2012 Golden Rose contenders after winning the Listed Rosebud (1200m) at Warwick Farm on Saturday.

The Anthony Cummings-trained youngster has shortened to fourth favourite ($6.50) in the market for the $1 million three-year-old feature behind All Too Hard ($3.70), Pierro ($5.00) and Samaready ($6.00).

It was the second consecutive win for She’s A Fox who was peeled to the outside at the turn by Hugh Bowman before comfortably distancing herself from her rivals to win by four lengths.

Cummings confirmed the exciting three-year-old would be aimed at the Golden Rose, suggesting she had the potential to match it with some of the best colts in the country.

“It’s the only million-dollar race in the spring here so if you’ve got a horse going well enough you’d be mad if you’re not in it,” Cummings said.

A winner of three from four starts, She’s A Fox will next line up in the Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) on Saturday week before the rest of her spring schedule is finalised.

Cummings also has the option of sending her through the Princess Series for fillies or targeting just the Golden Rose and the Group 1 Flight Stakes.

Jarrod Austin-trained colt Urquidez tried hard to finish second while outsider Secret Delight ran home in third position.

Well regarded Victorian colt Pronto Pronto appeared to struggle running in the Sydney direction as he finished six lengths off the pace in fourth.

The spring is starting to kick off in Sydney with Rosehill to host the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes and the Group 3 Starlight Stakes on Saturday.
