The Rosebud Odds 2012 – She’s A Fox Hot Favourite

Anthony Cummings’ promising Golden Rose bound filly She’s A Fox will jump the odds-on favourite in the 2012 The Rosebud odds at Warwick Farm on Saturday as she shoots for back-to-back wins at the track.

She's A Fox

She's A Fox is the odds-on favourite for the 2012 The Rosebud this weekend

The daughter of Fastnet Rock was purchased for a hefty $600,000 at the 2011 William Inglis & Son Australian Easter Yearling Sale and is fast living up to her potential.

Last time out she put four lengths on Sherocksmyworld to win an 1100m fillies-only sprint at Warwick Farm on July 28 and Saturday she returns to the course for the $100,000 Listed The Rosebud (1200m).

The Rosebud field 2012 is down to just five hopefuls following the early scratching of #6 Patsy Girl and in the latest markets She’s A Fox is the pronounced $1.80 favourite.

Three of her rivals are also at single figures with:

  • #3 Urquidez ($3.75) – Lightly-raced local colt won at the track a fortnight ago by 2.5 lengths showing promise, not nominated for the Golden Rose but if they win this could be a late entry
  • #1 Pronto Pronto ($5.50) – Lots to like about this Snitzel colt from Mornington, won at Sandown at their second start back in February and was far from disgraced when second – albeit beaten four lengths, to All Too Hard in the Group 2 Sires Produce at Flemington in March, will be better over more distance
  • #5 Red Dynamite ($6.50) – Red Ransom colt from the Rosehill stables of Tim Martin, won their debut after two successful barrier trials at the Gardens when putting four lengths on their rivals at Goulburn on July 27, goes up in class but that was over the 1200m and they overcame barrier 12 of 12, face fewer rivals here, drop back from 58kg to 54.5kg and Corey Brown stays on

Rounding out the diminutive The Rosebud field and markets is then $31 roughie Secret Delight, David Payne’s Encosta De Lago filly having won back-to-back Sydney races in June before her third to She’s A Fox last start.

The Rosebud results this weekend are sure to have a bit of an impact on the futures markets for the upcoming $1 million Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 15, She’s A Fox a $15 chance for the year’s first Group 1 race.
