2012 The Rosebud Field Features Only Six Hopes

Just six three-year-olds make up the final The Rosebud 2012 field at Sydney’s Warwick Farm Racecourse this Saturday, the race to be used by the majority of the acceptors as a launching pad into the $1 million Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill next month.

She's A Fox

She's A Fox will be ridden by Hugh Bowman in the 2012 The Rosebud on Saturday

The major support race of Missile Stakes Day, the $100,000 Listed The Rosebud (1200m) is due to jump as Warwick Farm Race 3 at 1:50pm.

To wear the number one saddlecloth and drawn in barrier one is the Jason Warren-trained Pronto Pronto who resumes racing this weekend after a five month break.

The untapped Snitzel colt has won one of their three starts to date and was most recently seen finishing four lengths off All Too Hard in the Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on March 10.

Pronto Pronto is one of The Rosebud hopefuls heading towards the 2012 Golden Rose Stakes and they currently pay a generous $51 in the futures Golden Rose odds at bookmaker.com.au.

Their biggest rival on Saturday looks to be in barrier five with the Anthony Cummings-trained She’s A Fox, top jockey Hugh Bowman set to ride the smart Fastnet Rock filly after weights for the feature were raised 0.5kg after the non-acceptance of former topweight Jade Marauder.

Going up to 56kg has allowed Bowman to take the mount on She’s A Fox, the returning Sydney hoop originally worried about missing the ride.

“She doesn’t have enough weight so I won’t be riding her, unless the weights are raised,” Bowman said on Tuesday.

A $15 Golden Rose chance She’s A Fox was last seen putting an easy four lengths on Sherocksmyworld in The Optus Sprint (1100m) first-up at Warwick Farm on July 28.

Along with She’s A Fox there are three other last-start winners in The Rosebud field this year including Jarrod Austin’s Street Sense colt Urquidez who has drawn gate three with Blake Shinn to ride.

After a failed debut when dead last behind Kuchinskaya at Rosehill back in February, Urquidez came on well on July 28 off a five and a half month break to score a nice two and a half length win at Warwick Farm.

The other horses out for back-to-back wins are then the Tim Martin-trained Red Dynamite and Wendy Roche’s Oratorio filly Patsy Girl, both youngsters coming off their winning debuts.

Finishing off The Rosebud field is then the David Payne-trained Secret Delight, the Encosta De Lago filly coming off a third to She’s A Fox at the track a fortnight ago on Saturday.
