The Rosebud Weights 2012 – She’s A Fox Gets 55.5kg

Anthony Cummings’ Golden Rose aspiration She’s A Fox has been allocated 1.5kg above the 54kg minimum for her next assignment in the 2012 The Rosebud at Warwick Farm on Saturday.

She's A Fox

She's A Fox has been allocated 55.5kg for the 2012 The Rosebud at Warwick Farm this Saturday

A winner of two of her three career starts to date the daughter of Fastnet Rock was last seen putting four lengths on Sherocksmyworld, a late entry for the $100,000 Listed The Rosebud (1200m) this weekend, to win The Optus Sprint over 1100m at the Farm on July 28.

Having originally also been nominated for the $125,000 Group 3 Missile Stakes (1200m) where she would have taken on an older field of rivals under weight-for-age conditions with just 49.5kg, She’s A Fox has been confirmed as going to The Rosebud where she will have 55.5kg – Hugh Bowman booked for the ride.

It will be the second time Bowman partners with the expensive $600,000 yearling purchase (2011 William Inglis & Son Australian Easter Yearling Sales).

He rode her to a smart one and three quarter length victory over Omniscient for her debut at Canterbury back in March before Peter Robl took over riding duties for She’s A Fox’s two most recent runs.

Saturday’s race will give Cummings a better idea of where the promising three-year-old is at as they head towards the season’s maiden Group 1 feature, the $1 million Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on September 15.

Currently paying $15 in the futures Golden Rose odds led by unlikely participant Pierro ($3.50), She’s A Fox drops back half a kilo from the weight she carried to victory at the same track a fortnight ago on Saturday.

The Rosebud weights are topped by the Chris Waller-trained Jade Marauder who has attracted a whopping 59kg.

Another Fastnet Rock filly, Jade Marauder has won two of her five career starts including the Group 3 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) at Randwick back in March, and was last seen beating home just one other runner when five and a half lengths away 15th to Pierro in the Golden Slipper.

Following Jade Marauder are then She’s A Fox’s stablemate Ninth Legion and the Jason Warren-trained VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes runner-up Pronto Pronto on 57.5kg each.

There are then three other nominees above the minimum with Gai Waterhouse’s progressive filly Sherocksmyworld (55.5kg), the David Payne-trained Secret Delight ( who ran third to She’s A Fox last start, and local Street Sense colt Urquidez (54.5kg) coming off a good win at the track.
