Red Dynamite Budding 2012 Golden Rose Hope

Tim Martin’s promising Red Ransom colt Red Dynamite will get a chance to further prove their Golden Rose 2012 ambitions on Saturday when they run in Warwick Farm’s $100,000 Listed The Rosebud (1200m).

One of twelve early 2012 The Rosebud nominations on Monday, Red Dynamite will be out to maintain their undefeated record after a sensational four length victory on debut at Goulburn on July 27.

Carrying 58kg and overcoming barrier 12 of 12 Red Dynamite caught the eye in that run over 1200m, earning themselves a shot at the big time this Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.

Martin and connections are eyeing the opening Group 1 race of the season with their budding three-year-old, the $1 million Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday September 15, 2012.

They will use The Rosebud as a springboard into the Golden Rose, and Martin is well aware of the huge class rise they face this weekend.

“It’s a big step up in class from Goulburn but I think he’s up to this so we’ll have a go,” Martin said.

“He got a quarter crack in a hoof as a young horse which is why he is a late starter.

“We’ll know more after Saturday but I’m sure he is a good horse in the making.”

Top hoop Corey Brown, aboard Red Dynamite for their debut success, will maintain their association with the $100,000 yearling for The Rosebud.

The big name The Rosebud nominees include Anthony Cummings’ classy filly She’s A Fox who is also nominated for the $125,000 Group 3 Missile Stakes (1200m) at the meeting, Chris Waller’s Sweet Embrace Stakes winner Jade Marauder, and the Jason Warren-trained Pronto Pronto last seen running second to All Too Hard in the Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) at Flemington in March.

She’s A Fox is the shortest priced of The Rosebud nominees in the futures Golden Rose odds currently open at bookmaker.com.au.
