Frankel Dominance Continues in 2012 Sussex Stakes

The world’s best racehorse Frankel has extended his unbeaten streak to 12 victories, scoring a typically dominant victory in the Group 1 2012 Sussex Stakes.

With regular jockey Tom Queally in the saddle, the British superstar was unchallenged by the three other horses in the field as he delivered an eighth Group 1 victory.

Following his usual racing pattern, Frankel was helped by pacemaker Bullet Train for the majority of the race before showing a remarkable turn of foot with 200 metres to go.

As expected, from that moment on, it was a one-horse race as the four-year-old galloped away to eventually win by six lengths.

Tom Quealley was again in awe of the son of Galilelo despite riding him in all 12 of his career victories.

“Every moment spent on Frankel’s back is a special moment and today was no different,” Queally said.

“He is a class apart from any other horse around at the moment and does it all very easily so therefore I have a very easy job.

“All I need to do is steer him…these are magic moments and it’s great to be a part of it.”

Frankel will now be set for the Juddmonte International (2000m) which will take place at York on August 22.

If all goes to plan, the all-conquering horse will then head to Royal Ascot on October 20 for the Champion Stakes.

Frankel has now won seven consecutive Group 1 victories with six of those victories coming at margins of four lengths or more.

Godolphin four-year-old Farhh, who was third to So You Think in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes, finished runner-up while three-year-old colt Gabrial was next back in third position.
