Ramornie Handicap Betting Update 2012 – Favourite Scratched

The Listed $150,000 2012 Ramornie Handicap (1200m) at Grafton today has been blown wide open following the scratching of favourite Magic Cassius.

Howmuchdoyouloveme is the new favourite in the Ramornie Handicap

The promising Angela Davies-trained gelding was being offered at $2.40 by bookmaker.com.au and his withdrawal sees Sydney youngster Howmuchdoyouloveme assume favouritism at $2.60.

The Con Karakatsanis-trained three-year-old is chasing a third consecutive victory after impressing with two victories at the Brisbane Winter Carnival.

A son of Written Tycoon, Howmuchdoyouloveme will jump from the inside barrier, one position inside stablemate Riva De Lago.

Riva De Lago currently occupies the second line of betting with River Lad at $4.00 but will need to turn around some poor recent form.

The four-year-old gelding struggled in two Queensland winter starts, producing two back-field finishes in the Group 2 QTC Cup and the Listed Eye Liner Stakes.

Sunshine Coast gelding River Lad will come from the opposite end of the stalls in barrier 10 but comes into the race on the back of excellent form.

The Natalie McCall-trained four-year-old is fresh off a win in the Group 3 Healy Stakes on June 23 ahead of the highly-rated Excellantes.

With the scratching of Magic Cassius, John Thompson-trained gelding Prost has moved under the double figures ($7.00).

A winner of six of 33 starts, the five-year-old is coming off a solid fourth-place effort to Belltone in the Eye Liner Stakes.

Also set to line up in today’s feature sprint are Ross Stitt-trained gelding Youthful Jack ($12.00), local mare Getyourown ($26.00) and Sue Grills-trained Ollie Vollie ($31.00).

The sixth race on the Grafton card today, the Ramornie Handicap is scheduled to jump at 3.03 pm (AEST).

Also on the Grafton card today is the Grafton Guineas which features John O’Shea-trained Art Thou Ready and Queensland youngster Lose It.
