The two-year-old filly has won three of her four race starts in Queensland, with her only defeat coming when second to Boban in the Listed Pheonix Stakes.

While trainer John O’Shea is currently in the United Kingdom, his stable is being represented by Helen Smith.

“The boss is away so he’ll be very chuffed,” Smith said.

“You know John, he’s definitely always watching.”

Smith was over the moon with the performance given by Hoss Amor, who won the race by a  convincing margin.

“She’s done absolutely fantastic,” she said.

“She’s so well behaved for a two-year-old.

“We’ve been very lucky to have her.

“It’s been a great honor to be here for this carnival.”

Hoss Amor was ridden to victory by jockey Chris Munce.

“She was pretty courageous today,” Munce said.

“She dashed really quick at the top of the corner and really sustained it.

“She came out pretty quiet.

“I just let her relax and she took her time getting across.”

Hoss Amor has now won four of her six race starts and earned more than $340,000 in prize money.

Caliente finished second, while Saluter ran home to place third.

Discreet was desperately unlucky as she failed to find space in the final straight and ran on strongly to finish fourth.
