If the market is anything to go by, not a single horse in the 2012 Diamond Jubilee Stakes (1200m) will come close to beating champion mare Black Caviar at Royal Ascot.
The race is set to jump at 12:45am (AEST) and the latest bookmaker.com.au market has the unbeaten superstar in her usual position as odds-on favourite at $1.15.
Chasing a 22nd straight victory, the world’s best sprinter as arrived at the famous British racecourse to clear skies and trainer Peter Moody has declared her ready to go.
“She’s fine, I’m fine, we’re ready,” Moody said.
With Irish gelding Hitchens scratched, the field has been reduced to 14 and not a single of Black Caviar’s competitors falls under double figure odds.
Next best is French mare Moonlight Cloud ($10.00) who boasts an impressive record of six wins from 10 starts and is fresh off a two-length victory.
She is followed by 2011 winner Society Rock ($15.00) and Bahraini star Krypton Factor ($21.00).
Krypton Factor has eight wins from 20 starts including the Group 1 Golden Shaheen during the Dubai World Cup meeting in late March.
While her 13 rivals will be hoping to end her incredible unbeaten streak, an 80,000 strong sell-out crowd will be hoping the super mare can repeat the performance of British Champion Frankel who won the Queen Anne Stakes by 11 lengths earlier this week.
On course support for the Bel Esprit five-year-old will be boosted by a strong Australian presence, with more than 5000 Australians expected to flock to the track to cheer on the champion.
