The Brisbane Winter Carnival may be coming to a close but there is a bumper eight-race program at Eagle Farm this Saturday and one of the key support races for the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara is the Listed 2012 Tattersall’s Racing Club Stakes (1400m).
Otherwise known as the Centenary Classic Mercedes-Benz Stakes, the $100,000 Listed event will test 13 talented two-year-olds including the in-form Hoss Amor.
The John O’Shea-trained filly is a short-priced $2.00 bookmaker.com.au favourite after an excellent winter campaign to date with Discreet the next best at $5.50.
Lightly-raced filly Sunset Affair ($8.00) is the only other horse to fall under double figures with Holey Gadoley and Caliente sharing the next line of betting at $11.00.

#8 Hoss Amor $2.00
Impossible to look past the favourite here who has been in terrific form this preparation. The General Nediym filly won comfortably first-up in the Listed Hampden Stakes before being upset by what was a sensational run by Boban when second in the Phoenix.
She bounced back last start to produce her best performance of the carnival to win by 2 1/2 lengths in the Listed Lancaster Stakes at Eagle Farm.
Trained by John O’Shea, she been a picture of consistency this year and with in-form jockey Chris Munce on board, should be too good against a field that is of lesser quality than what she has faced so far.
Promising filly Sunset Affair has signalled plenty of potential in her young career and if she continue her current vain of form she will be among the top three.
After producing a fourth-place effort on debut last year, the Gold Coast-based youngster produced an excellent first-up win at the Sunshine Coast this year before running second to Hoss Amor in the Lancaster Stakes.
Holey Gadoley came into the winter on the back of some excellent form and after finishing ninth first-up in the Phoenix, the Pat Duff-trained gelding produced an excellent run to finish runner-up to rising Sydney youngster Destruction in the Listed Dalrello Stakes.
Unlike a lot of this field, Holey Gadoley has experience over 1400 metres, winning the Winning Edge Presentations Handicap at Eagle Farm in April.
Platinum State $21.00
This Brian Guy-trained gelding struggled first-up in the Dalrello Stakes but can be forgiven for not handling a heavy Eagle Farm track.
He’ll get a far better surface this weekend and should produce a performance similar to the one that saw him finish runner-up in the $150,000 Caloundra Plate earlier this year.
