Hoss Amor Odds-on in 2012 Tattersall’s Racing Club Stakes

Exciting John O’Shea-trained filly stands well clear of her rivals as favourite in Saturday’s Listed $100,000 2012 Tattersall’s Racing Club Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm.

Hoss Amor

Hoss Amor is a short-price favourite to back up her Lancaster Stakes win this weekend

Otherwise known as the Centary Mercedes-Benz Stakes, Hoss Amor is paying $2.00 at bookmaker.com.au and heads into the race on the back of excellent winter carnival form, having won twice and finished runner-up once from three starts.

The General Nediym two-year-old won the Listed Hampden Stakes first-up before being upset by Boban in the Phoenix.

She then produced a sensational performance last start in the Lancaster Stakes, storming home to win by 2 1/2 lengths ahead of Sunset Affair and Saturn Rock.

Next best in the market is Kelly Schweida-trained filly Discreet who has been solid without results in her last two starts.

The Brisbane-based horse finished three lengths behind star two-year-old Sizzling in the Group 2 Champagne Classic when fifth and again ran fifth in the Lancaster Stakes.

Following Discreet is Lancaster Stakes runner-up Sunset Affair who is currently being offered at $8.00.

The lightly-raced filly has made a promising start to her career, finishing fourth on debut last year and winning by more than a length first-up this preparation on the Sunshine Coast.

No other horse falls under double figures with Pat Duff-trained gelding Holey Gadoley providing value for the punters at $11.00.

After struggling when ninth in the Phoenix, the son of Monashee Mountain bounced back last start to finish runner-up to well-regarded Sydney youngster Destruction in the Listed Dalrello Stakes.

Other horses set to take part in Saturday’s two-year-old race include Lancaster Stakes fourth place-getter Caliente ($11.00), Sunshine Coast colt Saluter ($14.00) and Robert Heathcote-trained Big Decision.
