Tattersall’s Racing Club Stakes 2012 – Hoss Amor Heads Nominations

John O’Shea-trained filly Hoss Amor heads nominations for the Listed $100,000 2012 Tattersall’s Racing Club Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm this Saturday.

Hoss Amor

Hoss Amor is the top nomination for the Tattersall's Racing Club Stakes

The talented two-year-old has been in excellent form at the Brisbane Winter Carnival, taking out the Listed Hampden Stakes first-up before finishing runner-up in the Phoenix and winning the Lancaster Stakes.

Ridden by Jim Cassidy, the Lancaster Stakes win was particularly impressive as she stormed home to win by 2 1/2 lengths from Sunset Affair and Saturn Rock.

The General Nedyim filly has had an excellent start to her career, winning three of five starts and already collecting more than $275,000 in prize money.

Second in the Lancaster Stakes was Gold Coast-based filly Sunset Affair and she gets a chance to exact revenge on Hoss Amor after also being nominated for the Tattersall’s Racing Club Stakes.

Trained by Gillian Heinrich, the Exceed And Excel filly has had an excellent preparation to date, with the Lancaster Stakes second preceded by a 1 1/2 length victory on the Sunshine Coast.

John Thompson-trained filly Sookie struggled last start when 10th in the Lancaster Stakes but prior to that produced a stunning six-length win in a two-year-old maiden at Eagle Farm.

One of the more heavily-raced horses nominated is Pat Duff-trained gelding Holey Gadoley who has two wins from 12 starts but is fresh off a runner-up finish to highly-rated Sydney two-year-old Destruction in the Listed Dalrello Stakes.

Promising Gold Coast filly Caliente won first-up at the Sunshine Coast by three lengths last month and since then has recorded solid fourth-place efforts in both The Phoenix and the Lancaster Stakes.

Other horses nominated for the Tattersall’s Racing Club Stakes include New Zealand-bred gelding Gay Deceiver and Robert Heathcote-trained Big Decision.

The Brisbane Winter Carnival action is nearly over so head to bookmaker.com.au when betting opens later this week for some great horse racing betting.
