Tattersall’s Tiara 2012 for Mid Summer Music Next Race

The closing Group 1 of the current racing season will be the 2012 Tattersall’s Tiara in Brisbane on Saturday week, the fillies and mares elite level earmarked for Peter Moody’s upset Stradbroke Handicap winner Mid Summer Music.

Stradbroke Handicap winner Mid Summer Music will next run in the 2012 Tattersall's Tiara

Exceeding Moody’s expectations of her Oamaru Force six-year-old Mid Summer Music stole the show at Eagle Farm last weekend with a mighty one and three quarter length win over local hero Buffering in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) as a $30 roughie.

She will now stay on in the sunshine state for one final run, Moody naming the $500,000 Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m) back at Eagle Farm on June 23 as her next aim.

“She pulled up fine after the Stradbroke,” Moody said.

“She’ll go to (the) Tatt’s meeting.”

Moody also said that Mid Summer Music would be joined in the Tattersall’s Tiara field by stablemate So Pristine, while Elusive King would run in the $200,000 Group 3 Tattersall’s Cup (2200m) at the same meeting.

“I’ll also send up So Pristine for the race,” Moody confirmed.

“Elusive King will run in the Tatt’s Cup on the same day.”

Zabeel mare So Pristine won the Group 2 Queen of the South Stakes (1600m) at Morphettville on April 28 before her last start effort to finish sixth behind Linton in the Group 3 RA Lee Stakes (1600m) in Adelaide on May 12.

Elusive King meanwhile will be looking to bounce back after a number of disappointing runs this time in, most recently finishing a well beaten seventh behind Ausworld in a 2000m class six at Doomben this Monday gone when failing to handle the Heavy (9) track.

June 23 is also the date that Moody’s stable ace Black Caviar will make her international debut, the super mare shooting for consecutive career win number 22 in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.
