An action-packed eight-race card will take place at Brisbane’s Eagle Farm Racecourse tomorrow and one of the highlights is the Group 2 $200,000 2012 Dane Ripper Stakes (1400m).
The track is currently rated as slow but with more rain predicted is likely to be in the heavy range tomorrow and that has seen regular wet-track winner Red Tracer installed as $3.40 bookmaker.com.au favourite.
The Chris Waller-trained mare is followed in the market by last-start winner Wealth Princess ($4.40) who has made a promising return from a serious tendon injury.
Only one other horse falls under double figures and that is in-form Bonnie Mac ($6.00) who is stepping up in class after winning her last five starts.
Other horses set to line up in the Dane Ripper Stakes include Peter Snowden-trained Forfeiture ($10.00) and promising four-year-old Potions ($10.00).
Don’t yet have a winner picked for the Dane Ripper Stakes? Don’t worry, the Races.com.au have done the hard work for you and analysed the form to bring you our best selections.
#1 Wealth Princess $4.40
This classy mare picked up where she left off prior to her almost two-year injury layoff last month when she went within a head of winning first-up before producing a dominant performance to take out the Group 3 Glenlogan Park Stakes.
The tendon injury has meant this six-year-old is still very lightly raced and has just 13 career starts for an impressive seven wins and five place-finishes.
She is by far the best horse in the race and the only query is carrying 59.5kg on a wet track but she has shown in the past she can produce the goods in wet conditions.
The favourite’s exceptional form on wet tracks makes her impossible to leave out of the top three selections.
From four starts on heavy and slow tracks, the daughter of Dane Shadow has finished at the front of the field including a dominant 2 1/2 length win in the Group 3 Millie Fox Stakes.
Sophie’s Spirit has inconsistent form in wet conditions but has shown plenty of promise in recent times including a last-start second to Wealth Princess in the Glenlogan Park Stakes.
Running from the inside barrier could cause some issues on a heavy track but if Glyn Schofield can keep her out of trouble she can finish strongly and feature in the placings.
#14 Alltherightmoves $21.00
If you can forgive her 10th in the Silk Stocking this talented four-year-old shows all the promise of an outsider who can upset the favourites.
The daughter of Johannesburg has won six times from 10 starts including three times in wet conditions.
She delivered an excellent effort last-start when third in the Glenlogan Park Stakes and if she can reproduce that is a dangerous prospect here.
