Sizzling Short in 2012 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes Market

Kelso Wood-trained colt Sizzling is odds-on favourite to score a third straight victory in Saturday’s Group 2 2012 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm.

Sizzling

Sizzling is odds-on favourite to win the BRC Sires' Produce Stakes

The son of Snitzel is currently paying $1.65 at bookmaker.com.au to continue his impressive run of form that has seen him take top honours in the Listed Ken Russell Memorial Classic and the Group 2 Champagne Classic.

Predicted wet weather in the Queensland capital should not stop the talented two-year-old as his 4 1/2 length win in the Ken Russell Memorial Classic came on a heavy (8) track.

Sizzling boasts a highly impressive early career resume of three wins and two place-finishes from six starts and is in great shape heading into Saturday week’s Group 1 TJ Smith.

The BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes serves a final lead-up to the winter feature for two-year-olds and another horse headed there is Academus ($3.70).

A son of Lonhro, Academus has just two career starts to date but has impressed with two close runner-up finishes including last start when he finished a head behind Sizzling in the Champagne Classic.

The only other horse currently under double figures is Gerald Ryan-trained colt Dances On Stars who has finished a worst of fourth from five career outings.

A son of Snitzel, Dances On Stars scored his maiden victory at the Sydney Autumn Carnival when he took out the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes and since then has placed twice behind Sizzling.

Next best in the betting is Brisbane-based gelding Noogoora Burr ($11.00) who upset Hoss Amor to win the Hampden Stakes by nearly two lengths and finished fourth in the Champagne Classic.

The BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes is the third race on a bumper Eagle Farm card and is set to jump at 1:20pm.

Think Sizzling will continue his run of form? No matter who you are backing, head to bookmaker.com.au to get access to the best odds.
