Sophie’s Spirit Amongst 2012 Dane Ripper Quality Nominations

26 horses have been nominated for a run in the Group 2 Dane Ripper Quality at Eagle Farm racecourse this Saturday June 2, 2012.

Amongst the talented fillies and mares entered for the $200,000 race is Max Hinton’s Sophie’s Spirit.

Sophie’s Spirit has won five of her 29 race starts and has earned more than $280,000 in prize money.

The Invincible Spirit mare finished second in her most recent start in the Group 3 Glenlogan Park Stakes at Doomben racecourse on May 19, 2012.

The five-year-old will be out to win her second career Group race, after winning the Group 3 Herald Sun Stakes at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day last year.

Trainer Peter Snowden will also line up a total of three runners, including Screen and Divorces.

Screen has won seven of her 23 race starts and has earned close to $400,000 in prize money.

The Lonhro mare will be out to improve her form in the 2012 Dane Ripper Quality after finishing no better than ninth in her previous two starts this preparation.

Divorces has won two of her 20 race starts and has herself won more than $425,000 in prize money.

Divorces is one of 26 nominations for the 2012 Dane Ripper Quality this Saturday.

The Domesday mare placed fifth in the Group 3 Lord Mayor’s Cup last start after posting close third placings in both the Group 3 Birthday Card Stakes and Group 2 Emancipation Stakes earlier on in her prep.

Potions and Shopaholic are also included in the 2012 Dane Ripper Quality nominations.
