Dance With Her Ready for Premier’s Cup 2012

Mornington mare Dance With Her will seek her third stakes win on the trot when she takes on a quality field for her Queensland debut in the 2012 Premier’s Cup at Doomben Racecourse on Saturday.

Co-trained by David Brideoake and David Feek the Al Maher five-year-old has won her past two assignments this month and will look to continue the purple patch of form in the $125,000 Group 3 The Channel Seven Premier’s Cup (2200m) on Doomben 10,000 Day.

A veteran of 38 starts Dance With her scored a nice one length win over Domesky in the Listed Warrnambool Cup (2350m) on a Heavy (8) track on May 3 before her last start win over Placement in the Listed Centaurea Stakes (2005m) at Morphettville on May 12.

She has never officially seen the 2200-metres, but her Warrnambool Cup success over 2350m shows the distance should suit.

Warrnambool Cup runner-up Domesky has also been nominated for the Premier’s Cup.

It is shaping up as a top edition of the Premier’s Cup this year with some of Dance With Her’s other more notable rivals should they accept including QLD Chairman’s Handicap winner Hume, Chairman’s runner-up Ironstein, the Kelly Purdy-trained Rundle, defending Premier’s Cup champ Shuffle The Cash and the Chris Waller-trained Wazn.

Connections are using the Premier’s Cup as a guide as to whether to continue onto the $300,000 Group 2 Brisbane Cup (2400m) at Eagle Farm on Stradbroke Handicap Day, June 9 with Dance With Her.

“We’ll take our chance with her in the Premier’s Cup and assess how she goes on Saturday as we want to run her in the Brisbane Cup,” Feek said.

Fields for all the Doomben races on Saturday are due out on Wednesday with to publish the full lists of acceptances and barriers.
