Tiger Tees May Head to Stradbroke After 2012 BRC Sprint Win

Joseph Pride-trained gelding Tiger Tees has produced a typically courageous effort to win the Group 3 $125,000 2012 BRC Sprint at Doomben today.

The lightning fast four-year-old got out of his barrier 13 position quickly and shared the lead with fellow speedster Listen Son for the early part of the race.

Tiger Tees lead from start to finish when winning the Hall Mark Stakes at Randwick last start and it was a similar effort today as he showed his toughness to hang on in front of Meet George and Steel Zip.

Pride was thrilled to get the victory and believes much bigger things are to come for the son of Dubawi.

“He’s a very courageous little horse this horse. He never wins by margins, they’re always coming at him but they never get him,” Pride said.

“This horse is a very progressive horse, he’s going to win better races than this.

“He’s extremely good on wet tracks and when he gets on wet tracks you’ll see him go to another level again.”

It was the first step up to Group level for the talented sprinter as part of a carefully mapped out program by Pride and he is being considered for a start in the $1 million Stradbroke Handicap.

“The Stradbroke had been mapped out and we’re going to have to have a good look at that and make sure that is the right race for him.”

Tiger Tees now boasts a highly impressive early career record of eight wins from 11 starts and has collected more than $300,000 in prize money.

The BRC Sprint wraps up another sensational day of racing at Doomben but racing returns to the track next week and bookmaker.com.au will have the best value odds on the Doomben 10,000.
