Doomben Cup Day – Race Scratchings 19/5/12

The fine weather seen in Queensland throughout the week has continued into the weekend which should make for a bumper day of racing at Doomben today.

The track is currently rated as dead (4) and is expected to firm throughout the day which means there have been limited scratchings across the eight-race card.

Headlining the race day is the $500,000  2012 Doomben Cup that will see star French import Manighar attempt to add another Group 1 title to his impressive resume.

There are plenty of other exciting races on the program including the Group 2 Champagne Classic which will see nine talented two-year-olds line up over 1200 metres and the Group 3 Roses which serves as lead up to next month’s Group 1 Queensland Oaks.
