Glenlogan Park Stakes 2012 – Nominations Headed by Parables

Peter Snowden-trained mare Parables headlines a 22-horse list of nominations for the Group 3 $150,000 2012 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) at Doomben Racecourse this Saturday.

Parables tops nominations for the Glenlogan Park Stakes at Doomben on Saturday

The daughter of Lohnro is a two-time Group level winner but has not experienced victory since March 2011 when she won the Group 2 Surround Stakes.

Her form this year has been promising, including a fourth-place effort to Atlantic Jewel in the Sapphire Stakes, and she gets he best chance yet to score her first victory of the year against a lesser quality field.

One of the other top nominations is fellow Snowden-trained mare Mascareri who is fresh off a last-start win in tough conditions in the Listed Silk Stocking on the Gold Coast.

The Commands five-year-old boasts a solid record of eight wins from 21 starts and gets a chance to improve on that on Saturday in what will be her first start at Group level.

Local mare Funtantes struggled in the wet conditions when running seventh in the Silk Stocking but prior to that had been in solid form, producing back-to-back runner-up finishes in Listed events at Eagle Farm.

Michael Lakey-trained four-year-old Risk Aversion is lightly raced but has produced some excellent form in her young career.

The Encosta De Lago mare has five wins from eight starts and has placed twice and won once from three starts in 2012.

Highly-rated Gold Coast-based mare Alltherightmoves gets a chance to bounce back after struggling on a heavy track when running 10th in the Silk Stocking at the Gold Coast last start.

The daughter of Johannesburg has six wins from nine starts but faces a step up in distance on Saturday, with the Silk Stocking (1200m) the only time she has competed at more than 1000 metres.

Also included in nominations for the Glenlogan Park Stakes are Liam Birchley-trained Emmalene, Toowoomba-based five-year-old Dual Chamber and New Zealand pair St Germaine and Wealth Princess.
