Unbeaten Gai Waterhouse-trained gelding Landing looks set to continue his unbeaten run this weekend when he lines up as odds-on favourite in the 2012 Hawkesbury Guineas (1400m).

Landing looks set to continue his unbeaten run in Saturday's Hawkesbury Guineas

The son of More Than Ready heads into the Hawkesbury feature race with four undefeated starts to his name where he has dominated all comers and seemingly improved every time.

Waterhouse said she was surprised by the three-year-old’s fast improvement and is predicting he will remain undefeated after Saturday’s race.

“”Landing will win. He’s a really good horse,” she said.

“He’s got the most amazing cruising speed and turn of foot. He’s really electrifying.”

Waterhouse’s star stable jockey Nash Rawiller has ridden the talented three-year-old in his last two starts, including an impressive 1.8 length win in the Listed South Pacific Classic.

The leading Sydney jockey will again be in the saddle on Saturday and he has been impressed by the horse who is now being considered for a tilt at Brisbane’s $1 million Stradbroke Handicap.

“He’s a horse that’s continued to improve and I couldn’t believe the improvement he made between his win at Warwick Farm and his last start win at Randwick,” Rawiller said.

Landing is currently $1.70 favourite at to win the $150,000 Listed event and he will run from barrier seven in a decent 10-horse field.

Included is Chris Waller-trained gelding Sacred Pins who gets his chance to exact some revenge on Landing after finishing runner-up last start in the South Pacific Classic.

Also set to line up is promising colt Uate who will appreciate the forecasted dry conditions after running 10th last start in a wet Gosford Guineas.

Prior to that, the Kris Lees-trained horse recorded a runner-up finish in the Maurice McCarten Stakes which suggested he is back on track after a disappointing spring campaign.

The Hakwesbury Guineas is the seventh race on the Hawkesbury card this Saturday and is set to jump at 4:00pm (AEST).
