Superstar filly Atlantic Jewel is odds-on favourite to increase her unbeaten streak to seven wins this Saturday in the Group 1 2012 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick.
Currently paying $1.25 at bookmaker.com.au, the highly talented three-year-old returned from injury with a bang two weeks ago with a four-length victory in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes.
The 2011 Thousand Guineas winner comes up against a far tougher field this weekend, with Sydney sprinter Rain Affair the next best in the betting market (($6.00).
Trained by Joseph Pride, the Commands gelding is still chasing an elusive Group 1 victory after being upset by Master Of Design in the TJ Smith Stakes.
He finished sixth in his only other attempt at the elite level in the Newmarket Handicap and it will take a special effort to upset Atlantic Jewel who has already sparked talk of a Black Caviar-type reign.
Just behind Rain Affair in the betting is New Zealand seven-year-old King Mufhasa ($6.50) who showed he is still a top level racehorse earlier this year when winning the Group 1 Futurity Stakes.
The 1400 metre length will suit the Stephen McKee-trained gelding who has recorded five of his 18 career victories at the distance.
Nobody outside the top three has been given much of a chance with the bookmakers, with Coolmore Classic winner Ofcourseican the next back at $31.00.
He is trailed by two-time Group 1 winner Albert The Fat ($41.00) who is backing up just seven days after finishing seventh in the Doncaster.
The genuine outsiders are Danzero gelding Happy Zero ($101.00) and New Zealand gelding Centennial Park ($151.00).
All the markets are now open for Randwick’s bumper day of racing tomorrow, so head to bookmaker.com.au to back your winner!
