Flawless Landing in 2012 South Pacific Classic Field

An exciting and undefeated three-year-old from the Sydney stables of Gai Waterhouse will look to retain their flawless race record when Landing runs in the South Pacific Classic 2012 at Randwick this Saturday for Doncaster Mile Day.

Gai Waterhouse will saddle up the undefeated Landing in the 2012 South Pacific Classic on Saturday

While Waterhouse vies for her fourth Group 1 success in as many weeks with a trio in the 2012 Doncaster Mile as well as Nobby Snip seeking their fourth on the trot in The Galaxy 2012, the premier trainer will also saddle up a genuine hope in Race 4 at 1:40pm – the $100,000 Listed McGrath South Pacific Classic (1400m).

Drawn in barrier 10 of 14 for Saturday, More Than Ready gelding Landing is yet to be defeated in their three start career to date.

Most recently they put an easy three lengths on a field of fellow three-year-olds at Warwick Farm when they overcame barrier 14 of 14 carrying 58.5kg over the 1400-metres.

They see the distance again on Saturday and drop back to 57kg making Landing a top chance in the South Pacific Classic.

Two gallopers are installed at the top of the weights with the Peter Snowden-trained Free Wheeling and Paul Messara’s More Than Ready colt Mahisara both on 58kg, and drawn in gates two and three respectively.

Group 2 winning Ad Valorem colt Free Wheeling, coming off a good fourth in the Phar Lap Stakes over 1500m at Rosehill a month ago, is one of two chances for Snowden who has also accepted for Lonhro filly Euryale in gate five with Kerrin McEvoy aboard.

Also with multiple entries is Sydney Premiership winning trainer Chris Waller to be represented by consistent Pins three-year-old Sacred Pins in eight, Velrosso one on their outside in nine and the resuming Choisir filly Scorpio Queen in barrier six.

Other notable hopefuls in the feature include black-type winner Charm’s Honour, one-time Golden Rose fancy Aeronautical and Hawkesbury galloper Shadow West.
