Doncaster Mile 2012 Form Guide & Betting Preview

This Saturday the biggest race on the cards will be the 2012 Doncaster Mile at Royal Randwick in Sydney, and to help you uncover the best bets in the star-studded field below the Races.com.au team have our insider Doncaster Mile form guide and betting preview.

Secret Admirer

Secret Admirer is undefeated over the 2012 Doncaster Mile track and distance

Due to jump at 3:35pm as Randwick Race 7, the $2 million Group 1 BMW Doncaster Mile (1600m) has this year attracted a full field of 20 starters plus two emergencies.

With well over half the field already Group 1 winners, including six-time elite level champion More Joyous who is the $6 co-favourite in the latest Doncaster Mile odds at bookmaker.com.au, it really is a classy edition of the autumn classic.

More Joyous shares her spot at the top of the Doncaster Mile betting markets with fellow Group 1 winning mare Secret Admirer who has the ‘visitor’s draw’ of barrier 22 to overcome.

Continued rain in Sydney will see a rain-affected track for the Doncaster this year bringing out the mudlarks in the betting markets.

So many Group 1 winners, two mares battling for favouritism and a wet track for the second straight Doncaster really opens this one up.

Add into the 2012 Doncaster Mile mix:

  • Three last-stat winners
  • A former Doncaster winner
  • Four Chris Waller-trained hopefuls
  • A single three-year-old
  • A veteran eight-year-old
  • A former Hong Kong galloper
  • A Kiwi raider

And you can see why picking this year’s Doncaster Mile winner could seem overwhelming.

That’s why we have done the Doncaster Mile form, gone over the race history, betting facts and relevant facts to come up with the below need-to-know guide.

2012 Doncaster Mile Form Facts & Betting Stats
