All Too Easy for All Too Hard in 2012 Pago Pago Stakes

Super star colt All Too Hard lived up to the hype today when cruising home to a one-length victory in the 2012 Pago Pago Stakes.

All Too Hard

All Too Hard wins the Pago Pago Stakes on the way to the 2012 Golden Slipper

It continues an unbeaten run for the half brother of Black Caviar who has left the racing public hoping he will back up next weekend for the $3.5 million 2012 Golden Slipper.

He currently sits as second favourite in the Golden Slipper betting market but co-trainer Michael Hawkes was in no rush to make a decision about his chances of running next Saturday.

“There’s going to be a million questions…we’ll see how he pulls up,” Hawkes said.

“We’re not going to make [decisions] overnight, we’ve got up until Tuesday morning.

“We’ll see how he pulls up and go from there.”

The now winner of three from three starts settled comfortably at the back end of the field for the majority of the race before jockey Dwayne Dunn began to peel towards the outside as they entered the final bend.

From there it was all too easy for the much-hyped horse who has everyone in the racing world talking of a Golden Slipper showdown with super star filly Samaready.

He pushed out to a two-length lead before Dunn applied the breaks and allowed him to canter home for a one-length win.

Dunn has ridden All Too Hard in all of his starts to date and the jockey was full of praise for the colt after his debut in Sydney.

“Best horse in the race, [I] just let him cruise round there and he’s just got that nice killer punch when you want to put them away,” Dunn said.

“He’s just holding together nicely, he’s taking the next step every time.

“He’s the real deal.”
