All Too Hard Odds On – Pago Pago Stakes 2012

Exciting colt All Too Hard is odds-on favourite to take out the 2012 Pago Pago Stakes this Saturday in what is the final male Golden Slipper lead up event at Sydney’s Rosehill Gardens.

Unbeaten from two starts to date, the half brother of Black Caviar is currently sitting as a $1.45 chance (bookmaker.com.au) to continue his unbeaten run over 1200 metres this weekend.

All Too Hard is odds-on favourite to win the 2012 Pago Pago Stakes

His strong favouritism comes on the back of some impressive performances which started with a debut win in the Talindert Stakes before blitzing the field to win by four lengths in the Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Those results have seen the colt listed as second favourite in the early bookmaker.com.au Golden Slipper betting market behind exciting filly Samaready but he is not considered a certain Slipper starter.

Co-trainer Michael Hawkes said earlier this week the focus was the Pago Pago and  a decision would be made on the glamour event following the race.

The only candidate that looks a realistic chance of upsetting All Too Hard is Kevin Moses trained horse Collect.

Currently sitting at $4.80, the Fastnet Rock colt is chasing a Slipper berth in the Pago Pago as the winner receives exemption from the ballot and he is presently low on the order of entry.

He has signalled plenty of potential in his two starts to date by finishing fourth on debut in the Group 2 Silver Slipper before coming third in the Skyline Stakes.

Next back in the betting is the Peter Snowden trained Narcissus ($9.00) who impressed last start when finishing second in the Scwheppes Plate at Warwick Farm.

He sits just ahead of Gai Waterhouse trained gelding Pure Hustle ($11.00) who ran sixth in that race after impressing with a debut win at Rosehill last year.

First up winner Le Cap will start at $26.00 in his first race at a metropolitan venue after demonstrating enough to trainer Tim Martin by winning on debut in Gosford on March 14.

The untouched outsiders for the event are Hard Marker ($126.00) and Strength ($151.00).
