With the bumper day of racing at Rosehill now out of the way, the horse racing world turns their attention to Sunday where the feature event is the Illawarra Mercury Keith F Nolan Classic 2012 which will be held at Kembla Grange Racecourse.
A field of nine three-year-old fillies will line up to contest the Group 3 race over 1600 metres and the top end of the bookmaker.com.au betting market is currently tight for the $150,000 event.
The current favourite with [bookmmaker] is the Anthony Cummings trained She Goes To Rio , currently at $2.80. Next best is the Peter Moody trained Chateau Margaux paying $3.80.
Both horses have been in sensational form, with She Goes To Rip chasing a third straight victory after coming off an impressive win in the Canberra Guineas.
With five starts under her belt, the filly has shown plenty of promise having recorded victory four times and her worst finish being a second-place effort.
Chateau Margaux is also coming off a hot streak and will be chasing a fourth consecutive victory after winning her last three starts at Geelong and Moonee Valley.
On her side tomorrow is her 54kg weight allocation which is two kilograms less than She Goes To Rio.
Chateau Margaux will also benefit from having regular jockey Luke Nolen in the saddle who has ridden her in four of five starts.
Next best in the bookmaker.com.au betting is Commands filly Appearance ($4.40) who is coming off a fourth-place finish in the Group 2 Surround Stakes at Warwick Farm on March 10.
Running from a favourable barrier four position will be Happy Hussy ($5.00) who has shown promise in her young career by winning three of nine starts and recording another four placings.
Behind Happy Hussey there is a gap in the betting market with Plumm at $11, inside runner Aliyana Tilde paying $13.00 and Caline sitting at $15.00.
The long-shot outsiders in the 2012 Keith F Nolan Classic are Pineapple ($35.00) and Pedrinate who remains untouched by the punters at a massive $126.00.
The Illawarra Mercury Keith F Nolan Classic is not too far away so make sure you head to the Races.com.au preferred bookie – bookmaker.com.au – to place your bets.
