2012 Coolmore Classic Day Tips – March 24, 2012

The 2012 Coolmore Classic Day is less than 24 hours away and racing fans are in for an action-packed day at Sydney’s Rosehill Gardens.

Highlighting tomorrow’s nine-race card is of course the 2012 Coolmore Classic which will test some the country’s best fillies and mares while the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes is a feature race for the stayers.

Outside the Group 1 events, there is still plenty of quality with two Golden Slipper lead ups with the 2012 Todman Stakes for colts and geldings and the 2012 Reisling Stakes for female juveniles.

The Group 2 Canterbury Stakes features a quality 15-horse field and will see glamour mare More Joyous return from a spell while the Phar Lap Stakes is another Group 2 event on the card.

The Races.com.au team have been keeping an eye on the markets, have analysed the form and are here to bring you our exclusive picks for all of tomorrow’s racing at Rosehill.

So check out our tips below and whether you agree or not, be sure to head to bookmaker.com.au to place your bets.

The Australian owned bookie is offering the best odds on tomorrow’s Rosehill action and are even offering a $300 bonus bet to first time depositing customers.

2012 Rosehill Gardens Tips – Coolmore Classic Day 2012

Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, Saturday March 24, 2012

Race 1 – 12:10pm Spotless Todman Stakes (1200m)

Golden Slipper fancy Pierro should prove far too strong for his rivals in the Golden Slipper lead up event. Check out the Races.com.au Todman Stakes tips and betting guide to find out why!

Race 2 – 12:50pm The APN Spirit of the Outdoor Handicap (1200m)

  • #12 Choice Words ($4.40) from #14 Pampelonne and #2 Mighty Obvious (bookmaker.com.au)

The Races.com.au think tank believe Choice Words will continue her run of hot form and take victory ahead of race favourite Pampelonne who is having his first run since being spelled in October. Mighty Obvious provides some value for the punters ($17.00) and is coming into the race in reasonable form.

Race 3 – 1:30pm Jacobs Creek Reisling Stakes (1200m)

Early Golden Slipper favourite Samaready is odds-on favourite tomorrow and the Races.com.au team can’t see her getting beaten despite second-favourite Snitzerland showing plenty of promise in her young career. Check out our full Reisling Stakes tipping guide to find out more!

Race 4 – 2:10pm McGrath Sky High Stakes (1900m)

Vintedge has not set the world alight so far this year but has been building nicely and finished fifth last start in the Schweppervescence Trophy. His Spring campaign started the same way before he finished off strongly with a Matriarch Stakes win. We are tipping him to return to that sort of form in tomorrow’s Sky High Stakes. In-form gelding Single will not be too far away and is coming off two consecutive victories while Fiumicino is coming off a promising fourth in the Randwick City Stakes.

Race 5 – 2:50pm Myer Canterbury Stakes (1300m)

  • #14 More Joyous ($2.60) from #2 Albert The Fat and #12 Somepin Anypin (bookmaker.com.au)

To see why classy Gai Waterhouse trained mare More Joyous will have no troubles adding to her highly impressive 15 wins from 22 starts in the Canterbury Stakes, read the Races.com.au tipping guide for the Group 2 race!

Race 6 – 3:30pm Ranvet Stakes (2000m)

  • #2 Shoot Out ($3.50) from #14 Scarlett Lady and #4 Manighar (bookmaker.com.au)

Earlier today, Races.com.au posted a comprehensive Ranvet Stakes Preview which details why Shoot Out is the deserving favourite to win the Group 1 stayer’s race. Scarlett Lady is the Races.com.au surprise tip to run second ahead of Australian Cup winner Manighar with the promising New Zealand mare receiving heavy backing from the punters today. She is running for the first time this year on Australian soil and is coming off two consecutive victories in the land of the long white cloud.

Race 7 – 4:10pm Coolmore Classic (1500m)

Our detailed guide to the Coolmore Classic provides full tips, predictions and a preview of the Group 1 race that will test some of Australia’s best fillies and mares. Read it to find out why race-favourite Streama will take out the $600,000 race.

Race 8 – Phar Lap Stakes (1500m)

  • #9 Rekindled Alliance ($6.00) from #3 Wild And Proud and #2 That’s The One (bookmaker.com.au)

Check out our Phar Lap Stakes predictions to see why we believe Rekindled Alliance has the talent to upset Hobartville Stakes winner Wild And Proud. These three horses make for a good trifecta tip with That’s The One the most heavily backed horse of the weekend so far at bookmaker.com.au.

Race 9 – Bacardi Together Stakes (1100m)

The Races.com.au think tank believe lightning-fast sprinter Karuta Queen will fly out of the blocks tomorrow to get her Autumn back on track following her worst ever finish in the Light Fingers Stakes. The three-year-old former Magic Millions winning filly will benefit from some good weather and a firming track at Rosehill tomorrow. Last year’s Group 2 Surround Stakes winner Parables is returning from a spell but should be good enough to feature in the placings while exciting colt Uate will finally run after being scratched the past two weeks due to bad weather.
