Single will be out to continue his sizzling run of form when he lines up as favourite in the Listed $100,000 2012 Sky High Stakes (1900m) at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday.
The Greg Carmody trained gelding is currently listed at $2.50 at bookmaker.com.au and is coming off two consecutive victories at Rosehill in 2012.
The highly promising four-year-old has five wins from nine starts and is no stranger to distance, having won twice at 1800 metres.
Brayroan is one of six New Zealand horses in the 11-horse field and the Chris Waller trained gelding is currently second favourite at $4.40.
Despite having not won so far this year, the five-year-old has been in reasonable form and is coming off a second-place effort last start at Warwick Farm.
Another from the Waller stable is just behind him in the betting, with experienced mare Vintedge sitting at $5.00 (bookmaker.com.au).
The six-year-old has plenty of race experience having won six times from 39 outings and is coming off a fifth-place finish in the Scwheppervescence Trophy after a successful Spring campaign.
There is a gap in the market behind the three favourites with New Zealand top weight Fiumicino ($9.00) just ahead of local gelding Rothera ($10.00).
If either horse is to challenge for victory on Saturday, they will have to turn around some disappointing 2012 form while Fiumicino has his work cut out carrying 60kg as well as drawing barrier 10 in a 12-horse field.
With a reasonable record of eight wins from 28 starts, Chris Waller trained gelding Beijing Boy provides something for the value chasers at $15.00.
He too will have to turn around some poor recent form, having managed a best of eighth from three starts in 2012.
The huge outsiders in the 2012 Sky High Stakes are Court Ruler ($81.00), Dealer Principal ($81.00) and the untouched Southern Skye who is currently paying $101.00.
The Sky High Stakes is the fourth race at Sydney’s Rosehill Gardens this Saturday and is set to jump at 2:10pm (NSW time).
It stands as an important support race on an exciting eight-race card that includes the Group 1 Coolmore Classic and the Ranvet Stakes.
