2012 Randwick Guineas – Betting Update

There has been some late movement in the betting at bookmaker.com.au ahead of today’s 2012 Randwick Guineas with race favourite Manawanui shortening to $2.90.

Yesterday bookmaker.com.au were offering $3.00 for the start three-year-old to take top honours in the $500,000 Group 1 Race in which he will have a showdown with Australian Guineas winner Mosheen.

Manawanui remains favourite ahead of Mosheen in today's Randwick Guineas

On the back of some race day scratchings, Mosheen has also come in from $3.60 to $3.40 with the Races.com.au preferred online bookmaker.

According the markets, the race is set to go one of two ways and it will be interesting to see whether Mosheen can again produce the goods from a poor barrier draw (14) after an exceptional run in the Australian Guineas from the outside in the wet.

Despite the strong favouritism for the two most acclaimed horses in the race, most of the movement in the betting has come with some of the lesser known names.

Anthony Cummings trained gelding Strike The Stars is one of the biggest movers, having come in from $12.00 to $9.00 at bookmaker.com.au.

The son of Savabeel is fresh off an impressive run in the Australian Guineas where he finished second to Mosheen.

On his side today when he chases an upset over the two big guns is a favourable number seven barrier draw and the help of highly experienced Sydney jockey Hugh Bowman in the saddle.

A horror outside barrier draw (17) for Gai Waterhouse trained Wild And Proud has seen the punters shy away from the Hobartville Stakes winner with the gelding drifting from $12.00 to $14.00.

The Snowland gelding took top honours over Manwanui in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes after his camp’s protest over contact from Mananwanui was upheld.

So who will it be? Manawanui or Mosheen? Or maybe you fancy one of the outside hopes? Whoever you backing, ensure you get the best and most comprehensive odds by betting with bookmaker.com.au.

They are Australian owned and new customers are eligible to cash in on their huge $300 bonus bet offer.

So with the Randwick Guineas action not too far away, make sure you visit bookmaker.com.au to back your winner!
