Close Contest Expected – 2012 Sweet Embrace Stakes Betting and Tips

It is now impossible to separate the two favourites in the 2012 Sweet Embrace Stakes with Jade Marauder shortening to join Golden Slipper hopeful Kuchinskaya at $3.60 (bookmaker.com.au).

The Chris Waller trained Jade Marauder was $4.60 yesterday but has been backed in while Kuchinskaya has lengthened from $3.30.

Both are heading in to the race in good form but it is the bookmaker.com.au third favourite that we at Races.com.au are predicting to take top billings in the $125,000 Group 3 race.

Flying Snitzel is currently paying $6.50 and coming off a spell, we believe the promising young filly has the talent to record a first up victory.

The Gerald Ryan trained horse won her first ever race by three and a half lengths in December in the Australian Turf Club Handicap and backed it up with a strong third-place effort in the Inglis Nursery two-year-old event at Warwick Farm.

With 15 horses running on Saturday after Peter Snowden trained Meidung was scratched, Flying Snitzel should benefit from her barrier seven start and will be ridden by the experienced Craig Williams.

It will be no easy run for the promising two-year-old though with Gai Waterhouse trained Kuchinskaya showing enough promise to sit at $26.00 in the early bookmaker.com.au Golden Slipper market.

She has one win and one place from three starts and will be looking to strengthen her Golden Slipper claims after coming off a win in Thesydneycarnival.com.au Handicap at Rosehill last month.

There is plenty of potential in the race and the Races.com.au tip for the third horse to feature in the placings is Kyria ($8.50).

After finishing fifth in her first up start at Randwick last year, the Grahame Begg trained horse came back from a spell in the Silver Slipper to show her wares with a promising third-place finish.

For the value chasers, Gai Waterhouse trained Valerio ($16.00) won on debut last month while More Than Ready filly Bethlehem ($34.00) showed plenty of talent in her first race when she finished fourth in the Vinery Stud Handicap.
