2012 Moonee Valley Night Sprint – Field Named

A full allotment of 14 horses will line up for the 2012 Trojan Hand Tools Night Sprint which is the second of two Listed races that will take place at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

The 1200 metre sprint is worth $100,000 and exists as one of two support races to the Group 2 Alister Clark Stakes.

Included in the 14-horse field is gelding Luck San who has been in blistering form and will be chasing a third consecutive victory.

Testa My Patience

Testa My Patience will return from a spell this Friday at Moonee Valley

The four-year-old won his last start in the Drain Man Premium Handicap at Moonee Valley and from six career starts has four victories and is yet to finish worse than second.

Top weight (60kg) Testa My Patience will return from a spell and the Mick Price trained gelding has the ability to record a first up victory as he boasts an impressive record of seven wins from 15 starts.

One of those wins came at Group 2 level and the five-year-old will have experienced jockey Craig Newitt in the saddle when he runs from barrier two on Friday night.

Peter Moody trained Oakleigh Plate runner Curtana was today named and the seventh-placed finisher must be among the chances coming back to a lesser quality field.

The four-year-old mare has drawn the inside barrier and will have regular Moody jockey Luke Nolen in the saddle as she looks to improve on her career record of five wins from 16 starts.

Other notable horses named in the final field are South Australian gelding Outlandish Lad and New Zealand six-year-old Larry’s Never Late.
