Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney will come to life this Saturday for Randwick Guineas Day 2012, one of the three Group race features on the card being the $125,000 Group 3 Skyline Stakes (1200m) where Golden Slipper-bound Raceway leads the nominations.

Raceway will be out to further their Golden Slipper claims with a win in the 2012 Skyline Stakes this Saturday

One of the key lead-ups to the $3.5 million Group 1 AAMI Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill on Easter Saturday, April 7, the 2012 Skyline Stakes has attracted 15 early entries.

Topping the list of hopefuls is the Gai Waterhouse-trained Raceway, the undefeated More Than Ready youngster out for their third wins in as many career starts.

A four length Warwick Farm winner on debut in January, Raceway retained their unbeaten status with a narrow win in the Listed Canonbury Stakes (1100m) back at the Farm on February 18.

Raceway is one of a handful of stakes winning two-year-olds out to hand Waterhouse with her fourth Golden Slipper success.

At a current quote of $7 in the latest Golden Slipper odds at Raceway is also the second best fancied of Waterhouse’s contingent following only equal $6.50 second elect Pierro, winner of the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes last time out.

Fellow Sydney trainer Peter Snowden will also continue in his search to unearth another Golden Slipper winner following the success of Sepoy in the lucrative juvenile’s feature last autumn with Commands colt Limes and Flying Spur two-year-old Lyric among the Skyline Stakes entries.

“They get their chance to run into the Slipper as well,” Snowden said.

Of the aforementioned it is O’Shea’s Redoute’s Choice colt Shelford who looks the biggest threat after their eye-catching second on debut when going down just a long neck to Raceway in the Canonbury Stakes on Feb 18.
