Chipping Norton Stakes 2012 Winner Is Shoot Out – Warwick Farm Results

Shoot Out has won the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes at Warwick Farm Racecourse today March 10, 2012.

The six-year-old gelding proved he was still up to the task of taking out some of the country’s best features with his dominant 2012 Chipping Norton Stakes win.

Trainer Chris Waller got the Chipping Norton Stakes quinella with Danleigh finishing second, while an unlucky Rangirangdoo finished fourth.

John Thompson’s Trusting rounded out the 2012 Chipping Norton Stakes placings in third.

Waller was full of emotion after the race was run.

“I’m just the one lucky enough to take the credit for today,” Waller said.

“It was a very satisfying finish as you can see.

“(I’ll now) just keep them ticking along.

“Danleigh showed he still has a win or two left in him.

“And (Rangirangdoo) should have finished in the top three. He was very unlucky.”

Shoot Out is a recent addition to the Waller stable, after having his first 24 race starts under the guidance of Queensland trainer John Wallace.

Waller was thankful that Shoot Out’s owners decided to transfer the High Chaparral gelding south.

“Full credit to them. It wasn’t an easy decision,” he said.

Jockey Hugh Bowman was pleased that Shoot Out was able to come through with the goods in today’s race.

“He was dominant, and I must admit I had mixed minds about how he’d go today,” Bowman said.

“It was just lovely to see him get back in the winners stall today.

“He’s a unique animal and he’s a top class horse.”
