All Too Hard Wins VRC Sires Produce Stakes 2012 At Flemington

The Black Caviar family has continued to excel, with half-brother All Too Hard running away with his second race victory in the 2012 VRC Sires Produce Stakes at Flemington today.

The two-year-old colt made headlines when he was purchased in April last year for $1.025 million at the Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

All Too Hard won his first start by one and a half lengths in the Listed Talindert Stakes last month, and backed up that win with a dominant victory in today’s Group 2 VRC Sires Produce Stakes.

The Casino Prince colt won the race by four lengths ahead of Pronto Pronto, who finished second, and Road Trippin, who finished in third.

Co-trainer John Hawkes was thrilled with All Too Hard’s performance in the VRC Sires Produce Stakes.

“He’s a lovely laid back horses and it was a really good win,” Hawkes said.

“He’s always been a laid back horse from day one.”

Hawkes is confident All Too Hard will continue to improve with age.

“He’ll be a much better three-year-old. We always thought he would be,” Hawkes said.

The trainer is still yet to decide whether to run All Too Hard in the Golden Slipper on April 7, 2012.

“We’ll see what happens, we won’t rush into anything,” he said.

“It’ll be 50/50.

“Slippers are funny races, I’ve only won one.

“Luck plays a big part in Slippers. If you don’t draw the right gate, you don’t win.”

Jockey Dwayne Dunn is looking to continue his partnership with All Too Hard in the future.

“He settled really good from behind so that’s an asset he’s got as well,” Dunn said,

“The pedigree; he’s got a fair bit to live up to.

“It (was) just an awesome win today.”
