Snitzerland Heads 2012 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes Field

Golden Slipper fancy Snitzerland heads the field for the 2012 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes which was released today.

The Group 3 event will kick off the massive day of racing at Flemington this Saturday which includes the Newmarket Handicap and the Australian Cup.

Trained by Gerald Ryan, Snitzerland currently sits at $15.00 at in the early Golden Slipper Market and is the stand out horse in the $125,000 Throughbred Breeders Stakes.

She is coming off a win in the Inglis Premier at Mornington on February 15 and will be ridden by the experienced Corey Brown from barrier two.

The race is for two-year-old fillies and one horse that may challenge Snitzerland for top honours is Armed for Action.

She has two wins from three outings and finished a very promising third in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes last weekend.

Armed for Action is trained by Anthony Freedman and will come from barrier eight on Saturday.

Real Stolle has the advantage of coming from barrier three and will be guided by well known jockey Damien Oliver.

She was ridden by Oliver in her last start when she finished eighth in the Blue Diamond Stakes.

Doug Harrison trained Nicskioffski  has been in sensational form, winning her last two starts but the Group 3 race on Saturday stands to be a step up in class for the filly.
