Panipique has proved too good for her opposition in the 2012 ATA/BOB Hoysted Handicap at Flemington Racecourse, where she posted a convincing win today.
The four-year-old mare was first-up in the 2012 ATA/BOB Hoysted Handicap after having a four month spell over the summer.
Panipique has now won five of her 18 race starts and has earned more than $300,000 in prize money.
Trainer Peter Moody said that the slow-rated track was a big help to Panipique in today’s race.
“She got conditions to suit,” Moody said.
“She loves the cut out of the ground and she was primed to run well.”
The Testa Rossa mare was due to resume her autumn campaign in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate last start, however a niggling injury cause Moody to change her race schedule.
“She was primed to run good in the Oakleigh last week but she had a bit of a problem,” he said.
Panipique will now head towards the Group 1 The Galaxy at Randwick on Saturday April 21, 2012.
The mare was paying odds of $7 to win the 2012 ATA/BOB Hoysted Handicap at bookmaker.com.au after originally opening at $13.
